So since I had day off… I decided to head to Uptown and check out their Street art. I have not been out and about in a few years… Since the pandemic especially but even before that… I was sitting for 2.5 hours each way to work and working 8 hours a day… So I was looking forward to my new life and closing the chapter on one that wasn’t keeping me healthy mentally or physically. But I wanted to tackle something I wanted to do on my own and see if I enjoyed it.

So Charlotte has a mean street are scene. (Graffiti.) I am not the best at directions but I tried my hand at it. Luckily for me there were a lot of maps with addresses on where to find what. Here are a couple of links (https://charlotte.axios.com/153556/the-definitive-guide-to-60-charlotte-street-murals-mapped/) (https://findmasa.com/city/charlotte) (https://theclio.com/tour/1838) and (https://talkingwallscharlotte.com/map/) I thought this would be a great opportunity to pull out the new camera that I bought 2 years ago and never got the chance to use. So let’s see how well I did.

This was where I started and it is hard to miss. It is pretty hard to get the whole thing but that could be that I wasn’t using the right lens. But you live and you learn.

This is probably a favorite of what I shot the other day. Super colorful and vibrant. Loved it.

So… These were all at the Metro but one thing I figured out when attempting to shoot these… early on in the day was that I was to run into some things that I may not want in my shots but I was going to have to roll with the punches… Hence the security cart.

There was another one on this building that I liked… But there was a huge crane around it. I think they were working in the building but I didn’t get a chance to shoot it. And I was sad. But I moved on… (Still at the Metro.)

These were pretty funky. But I almost had to step out in the street to get them. Had to shoot them on an angle. I have a lot to learn. But plenty of time to learn it.

I wonder what kind of concentration it took to do these steps. There were fun though.

So the funny thing here was I was driving around looking for a place to park. Didn’t think I would look up and see these. There are all on the same building BTW.

These just seemed fun… and these are perfect circles. I’m impressed. I couldn’t have done it. LOL.

Wandering away from my car is always a mistake but even though I may have gotten lost I managed to find some cool stuff.

I ended my tour tired and sweaty but I think for a first run… I did okay and I am impressed with my camera and what little I know about pics. So fun. There is so much more to see in Uptown and I will have to circle the city several times to catch it all. But until next time.
